AudioPal is a free on-line tool which allows one to upload an already recorded mp3 file and obtain embedding code to place the audio file in a player on a wiki page.

1.
AudioPal
Click Get Yours It's Free
Upload from file.
Request your AudioPal by entering your e-mail address.
The link in the e-mail message that will be sent provides the HTML embedding code for inserting the audio player and your audio file on a wiki page.
When you receive the e-mail message, click on Click Here to pickup your AudioPal code.
Now back at AudioPal, uncheck the box by Play on load, if you don't want the audio to play automatically every time the page opens.
Copy the embed code and use it to insert the AudioPal widget in your web page.

(I don't know how long the AudioPal website will keep the audio files created and stored there, so important original recordings should be kept safe somewhere else as well. )

Audio files can also be uploaded to and stored on the wiki site. They can be inserted into a wiki page like any other uploaded file (photo, text, etc.), but, unless they are very small, they will need to be downloaded in order to listen to them. Downloading for listening isn't a big problem, but it's less instant and automatic than being able to play the audio file with a single click on the wiki page.

Google Reader Podcast Player For Single MP3s

The Digital Inspiration blog has the details on embedding MP3 files with the Google Player, but to summarize the article, you just have to insert this code, replacing “MP3URL” with the correct URL of the MP3 file hosted on the web that you want to embed in your index.html file that hosts the main page:

<embed type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” src=”http://www.google.com/reader/ui/3523697345-audio-player.swf” flashvars=”audioUrl=MP3URL” width=”400″ height=”27″ quality=”best”></embed>

While this player is very simple in appearance, it doesn’t carry the Google logo, it even has volume controls and is probably one of the easiest ways to embed an MP3 player working fast.
